Letters: The smallest unit with the help of which we can write an english word is called letter. It is also known as alphabet.

In the language of english, there are 26 different alphabets. 
These letters are of two types:
1) Capital Letters (Capital Alphabets) 
2) Small Letters (Small Alphabets) 

Categories of Alphabet

English alphabets are categorised into two group, i.e. 1) Vowels   2) Consonants

What are Vowels? 

The the latters a, e, i, o, u of the English alphabet are called vowels. There are 5 vowels. 

What are Consonants? 

All the letters of english alphabet except a, e, i, o, u are called consonants.  There are 21 consonants. These consonants are - b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, Z.
